Escambia School employees will soon receive $ 1,000 for their pandemic work – except teachers and principals: NorthEscambia.com

Current Escambia County School District employees who worked in the past school year will soon receive an additional $ 1,000, with the exception of teachers and principals.

Florida teachers and principals previously received a $ 1,000 bonus from the state for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, the Escambia County School Board has approved $ 1,000 for other administrative, vocational, pedagogical and educational support staff who worked during the 2020-2021 school year, as long as they are still employed by the district.

“The school board members and I are very grateful for the hard work and dedication of district staff during this most difficult time. This is one of the ways we can communicate to everyone that their commitment has not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for their persistence, ”said Superintendent Tim Smith. “Our goal is for the district to issue these payments before the end of calendar year 2021.”

To receive the initiative payment of $ 1,000, employees must have been actively employed by June 2, 2021 and be currently employed at the time the payment is made.
