ITV Lorraine in hot water after controversial Ranvir Singh interview as viewers react
Lorraine has been criticized by viewers following an interview with a holidaymaker in Mallorca.
Ranvir Singh replaced Lorraine Kelly on ITV1 this month while Lorraine is on annual leave.
However, she found herself on hot water on Tuesday during an interview with a Briton stuck in the Balearics.
Gabriella Fernandez was due to return to the UK last week, but her friend tested positive for Covid-19, meaning she had to stay and isolate herself at the hotel in Mallorca.
As reported by Birmingham Live, she told Ranvir: “It’s just awful.
“The amount of tears that Giorgia and I have had, like hysterical crying, even to the point where we can’t talk to each other because we don’t want to be upset.”
“We knew what we were getting into, we are not here for sympathy, it is more just a warning to everyone.
“But it’s going to have a huge impact.”
Viewers of the longtime talk show expressed their displeasure during the online interview.
“So people are still losing their jobs and their homes in the UK due to Covid but they are talking to a girl who is stuck in a hotel for 11 days because she made the choice to go on vacation during a pandemic ! ” an observer stormed.
Others urged the show to “take control.”
