“Emily Dickinson was a woman decades ahead of her time. This vibrant and forgotten piece has surprising relevance to today… and is a perfect vehicle for Cynthia’s talent, ”said director Robert Smyth.

With the exception of the 18 months the theater was closed during the Covid-19 pandemic, LAMB’S has presented a calendar year season all year round since opening its first resident stage in 1978, an intimate theater round in National City. The company spent 17 seasons there, steadily building a growing following across the county. LAMB’S became the third largest theater company in the region (after the Old Globe and La Jolla Playhouse) after its resident theater moved to Coronado’s iconic Spreckels Building in 1994.
Cynthia Gerber’s first performance with LAMB’S took place in 1988 in THE BOOK OF THE DUN COW. A seasoned member of the theater ensemble, she is one of the “5”, the five performers who have appeared in over 90 stage productions with LAMB’S.
Robert Smyth joined Lamb’s Players in 1976 to begin the group’s residency theater work and became the organization’s artistic director in 1985.
