New Years Eve fireworks display in Truro will take place this year
See 2022 with a bang as Truro has confirmed he will host two fireworks this New Year’s Eve.
The festivities took a hiatus last year with the Covid restrictions putting a break on the usual celebrations.
But as the clock strikes midnight – ending a tumultuous year – we can all watch the Truro skies light up with fireworks.

In December, New Year’s Eve fireworks will take place at two events, the Family Fireworks and the Midnight Fireworks.
Following its success in 2019, the previous exhibition, with a 7:30 p.m. viewing hour, will allow families with young children to participate in the fun as well.
Both shows will be lit at Truro School and best viewed by Lemon Quay and were made possible through donations from locals, as well as sponsors.
The Mayor of Truro, Cllr Steven Webb, said: “I especially want to thank everyone who has donated. Their generosity allows us to have a wonderful evening of celebration, which is more important than ever after the trials we have faced. This year.
“I look forward to welcoming the New Year together again and I hope 2022 will be a better year for all of us.”
The event was also made possible through crowdfunding, graciously organized by Paul Caruana.
Paul said: “With the whole world suffering from the Covid restrictions, I thought it would be a great idea to see the New Year in style! We did this in 2019 and it was really well enjoyed and attended. Our children have had a hard time over the past 18 months or so.
“Letting them celebrate the New Year with their own fireworks display is a little way to reward them. The Truro community came together to raise funds for the event and it was extremely appreciated. “
Crowdfunding money will be used to subsidize three-pound meal vouchers for children attending the family fireworks display.
Vouchers can be used at independent local restaurants. Vouchers will only be accepted on the night of December 31, 2021.
Participating sites will soon be announced through Visit Truro and Truro City Council social media channels, and a list will be posted on the Visit Truro website.
